1. Laughing Kookaburra - Native to small apartment complexes in downtown Brisbane, this species has a very unique call.  It laughs like a monkey at precisely too early every morning.  Did I say "it?" Because I meant "them."  And by them, I mean there's hundreds of the noisy bastards every morning without fail.  Apparently "Labour" day means nothing to them.  Someone needs to tell these flying penguins what a union is.

2. Bungy Bird - This bird, originally found only in New Zealand, is popular with the younger crowds.  A large population inhabits the Kawarau River region, and its calls can be heard every 2-3 minutes, during business hours.

3. Gimli Bird - This bird is also native to New Zealand, but has a lower, more harsh tone.  This is by far the ugliest bird west of the pacific.  The bird echoes the common noises made by many New Zealand native birds, including sports figures, taxi drivers, and Pumbaas.

4. Woodpecker Walking Bird - This bird, found throughout Australia mostly in urban areas, has a very distinctive call.  A sister species exists in the United States, but it puts more emphasis on visual displays than calls.  This species tends to congregate at intersections, and its call is almost always followed by the rapid movement of people across an intersection.
